In the Photo Blog I'll be picking out a particular place in the city and adding a little extra depth to the images. For the first entry I've chosen the small island of Murano. You can use the water buses to visit all of the islands and this one is just a 15-20 minute journey from the stop outside the train station (Ferrovia). Murano is famous for its glass factories and you'll find an impressive Glass Museum along with dozens of little shops selling their home-made wares. The other striking thing about Murano is the array of colour, whether that comes from the pretty houses, the boats or the green of the water which is so vibrant even on a rainy day as in this photo.
